When I very first started to work how to walk my mum took me to the coast. As soon as I saw the sea I was out on the sands walking alongside the water line, watching the waves and surf as it lapped near my feet. I’m pretty sure I walked as far as I could before my mum came and told me we were going home. That memory of walking along the coast and the blueish colour that came with it has been further enhanced by countless holidays abroad and in the UK which hardened my palate. This painting shows not only the simple colours the sea makes but the natural power of the waves and its soul.
